What to know before you use an estimate.
How accurate are the cost estimates?
HomePlanIQ provides indicative low, typical and high ranges based on market assumptions. The final cost can change with location, specification, access, contractor availability and the condition of your home. Obtain written quotations before committing to work.
Where do the grant figures come from?
Grant and eligibility information is based on published official sources, including SEAI and relevant Irish government sources. Scheme details can change, so check the current official information before applying or starting work.
Do I need a BER certificate?
You do not need to upload a BER certificate to use the current calculator. Enter your BER rating if you know it. A current BER and professional assessment can give you a better understanding of your home's energy performance.
Do I qualify for SEAI grants?
HomePlanIQ can show potential support from the information you provide, but it cannot confirm eligibility or approve a grant. Current scheme rules, property details, assessments and the official application process determine the final position.
What if my home was built after 2011?
Some grants have construction or occupancy date conditions. Enter the actual year built and HomePlanIQ will apply its eligibility rules. Confirm the result against the latest official scheme information.
Can I include an extension or attic conversion?
Yes. General renovation work can be included in the overall project cost. Extensions and attic conversions do not themselves receive SEAI energy grants, so their costs remain separate from potential energy-upgrade support.
What is the difference between Individual Grants and the SEAI One Stop Shop route?
Individual Grants support eligible measures that you arrange through the relevant application process. The official SEAI One Stop Shop route is a managed, multi-measure home energy upgrade route. HomePlanIQ compares them separately where the selected project makes that comparison meaningful.
Is HomePlanIQ affiliated with SEAI?
No. HomePlanIQ is an independent planning service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or part of SEAI, and it cannot make grant eligibility or approval decisions.
